Crowns

When teeth are damaged to the point that fillings or onlays won't help, Dr. Weigand may recommend the use of a crown in order to save the tooth. With proper home maintenance they can and should last for years without replacement. Crowns may also be used like veneers for cosmetic reasons. Older crowns had metal cores used for strength but caused a dark gray shadow or line to show. As you see from Dr. Weigand's work in the photo, his crowns won't show that dark line in many cases and produces a more natural, healthy look.
